I am campaigning to run for the House of Representatives District 65 for 2010. Respectfully, I will succeed the seat currently being held by Representative Wayne Ford.

Named Iowa Teacher of the Year in 1998, been inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame, the Iowa African American Hall of Fame in 2003, and the Iowa Women’s Hall of Fame in 2007. In 2001,started Sisters for Success, a mentorship program for African American middle and high school girls, which, is being replicated in several schools across Iowa such as Davenport, Iowa City, and Waterloo.

My Campaign Goals

1. Education - More funding for teachers, Fine Arts/PE and to continue quality teacher pay.

2. Create jobs to stregthen and improve Iowa.

3. Health care for all Iowans.
